A few months ago I had to opportunity to do several photo sessions with Keith Ward and the Blackwood Jazz Combo. What a blast this band was to photograph! We did a session in my studio and then I went to one of their live performances and captured some additional images. Good times! The beautiful Lia joins the band occasionally to contribute her voice. I'm a big fan of jazz and I jumped at the opportunity to do this photo session for Nichole and Al. I tried to capture the spirit of their music with minimal lighting that offered some very dramatic shadows and contrast.
