about
I began photography in 1970 at the age of ten when I received my first camera and a home darkroom hobby kit. That launched a never-ending pursuit into the world of photography. Early on, I became intrigued with the landscape work of Ansel Adams, but as I matured and found more interest and satisfaction with photographing people, I moved on to the works of Arnold Newman, Richard Avedon, Irving Penn and Francesco Scavullo, studying not only the technical aspects of their photography, but also their ability to accurately capture the personality of their subjects. It is this ability that I have I strived to emulate through my years of photographing people, trying to capture their personality rather than just the mere two-dimensional reflection of their image.
